About Hearthsum
The honest sums for your home's energy.
Hearthsum publishes what UK home energy schemes and equipment actually cost and who actually qualifies, taken from government sources, dated, and rebuilt whenever a figure changes. We are not an installer and not a lead generator. We do not ask for your details, so we cannot sell them, and nobody will ring you because you read a page here. When a scheme has nothing for you, we say so plainly, because a page that only ever says yes is not worth reading.
How we check these figures
Every figure on this site is a record with a source, a date and a deadline. We read it from the body that publishes it, never from another guide: the department, the regulator, the certification scheme or the supplier's own tariff page. We write down the URL, the day we read it and the day it is next due a read. That record is what builds the page, so a number cannot appear here without one, and the receipt under each figure is the record itself rather than a note about it.
When a figure is due a re-read, the build says so. When a source and a comparison site disagree, the source wins and we say where the other one went. Where we have multiplied something out ourselves, the page calls it our arithmetic beside the number instead of passing it off as published. And where a figure cannot be verified, it does not go up: a page with a gap in it is honest, a page with a guess in it is not. The whole set is public at /api/metrics.json, with every source and every date, so anyone can check our working.
The daily rebuild, what a recheck date does, and how a correction shows up, are set out on how we check our figures.

Privacy: we ask for nothing
There is no form anywhere on this site. No name, no email, no postcode, no account, no newsletter. We do not ask for your details, so we have nothing to store, share or sell. It is the plainest privacy position there is: we cannot lose what we never collect.
The whole policy, including the cookies Google's ads can set and how to turn them down, is on its own page: Privacy.
